All content herein is based on characters and situations created and owned by JK Rowling, various publishers including but not limited to Bloomsbury Books, Scholastic Books and Raincoast Books, and Warner Bros., Inc. No money is being made and no copyright or trademark infringement is intended. We're just borrowing them to do a public service and share some laughs with the fandom.

dressed

These are stories that are written reasonably well, don't contain much OOCness or canon mistakes, and have original ideas driving the plot. We MST them as a free excerpt beta-reading service to the authors. No one is perfect.

In a flimsy
dressing gown

These are "creative adaptations" of other people's ideas written by BNFs. Some people might even notice that the premise is plagiarized without attribution, but they won't say anything in fear of committing fandom suicide. Even if the BNF is a nice person and doesn't get upset at them, the fangirls will eat them alive anyway.

Desperately clinging
to underwear

These are moderately well-written stories with mild OOCness, some canon mistakes, and glimmers of originality. They might even be enjoyable, if you enjoy purple prose, stilted dialogue, and one-liners borrowed from other people.

Wearing
a fig leaf

These are stories with OOCness, blatant disregard of canon and large amounts of pretentiousness that masquerades as skillful prose. They aren't horrible, but they clearly don't deserve the fandom-wide acclaim they get due to their author's overblown name.

Starkers

These are stories that are OOC, ignore canon, are poorly written, contain cliched and trite plot contrivances (and did not originate said contrivances). If written by someone nameless, they end up on GAFF,

pottersues et al. If written by a BNF, they're glorified as wonderful literature. They are the reason

deu_sex_machina exists, as it were.
